Going Modern with White Boards

Going Modern with White Boards
We all remember going to schools where our teachers used blackboards and other colored boards for instructions. The sound of the chalk pencils as they were used on the boards and the dust that emanated from them all over much to the agony of students who were asthmatic. Those were really the days of the past. Those boards are long since faded into the oblivion as the new ones have taken their place everywhere. These are called white boards. They are smoother and bright white in color. Chalks are no longer used on these. Different Uses of White Boards The utility of white boards can be varied. There are several places where these are put up for usage like in the following. 3 Classrooms – Instructions by teachers are now easier with the help of white boards as these do not involve the use of chalks as well. They are easy to view even from a distance which makes it suitable for large classrooms. 4 Meeting Rooms – The board room meeting couldn’t get better. The use of a white board can be perfect not only to draw a presentation graph but also for usage in case of an OHP (over head projector. 5 Conference Halls - The use of white boards are common in case of conference rooms where it can be of multiple usages. This is useful for hand drawn explanation and presentation as well as the usage of an OHP. Apart from that a white board can be useful as a screen for projectors also in case of the careening of a film or documentary. Types of Whiteboards When we mention types of white boards there is no reference to any difference in the main appeal of the white boards. It still remains the board of use. But there are certain differences in the types of surfaces that is given to it. There are different surface textures given to white boards as in the following. 6 Painted Metal Surface – The painted metallic surface can be either steel or aluminum. The paint is sprayed on the metallic surface. This is a durable procedure and also allows a smoother and easily erasable surface. This surface also accepts the use of magnets on its surface. 7 Melamine Surface – This is the basic form of whiteboards that is available in the market. It is inexpensive and at the same time susceptible to scratches and stains of the ink pens after a short duration only. 8 Enameled Metallic Surface – These are usually steel surfaces that are enameled with porcelain or ceramic. It leads to a highly durable surface that is erasable and scratch resistant. The surface also allows magnets to be used on its surface. There are special marker pens that are used to write on these boards. However the boards can be wiped and so each time the writings are over the same can be erased with a specially made duster.v
