A self financing body, CBSE has 8979 schools under its jurisdiction as on 31-03-2007 including 141 schools in 21 countries. In order to execute its functions effectively Regional Offices have been set up by the Board in different parts of the country to be more responsive to the affiliated schools.
The Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh is at present the biggest examining body in the world. The Board was set up in the year 1921 at Allahabad by an act of United Provinces Legislative Council. It conducted its first examination in 1923. This Board is one in India which, from the very start, had adopted 10+2 system of examination. The head office of the board is located at Allahabad. Presently, the Board is holding the examinations and preparing the results of nearly 32 lac students.
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education is well known body which has been playing a really important part in conducting various exams at high school and intermediate level in the state, effectively throughout the years.
These education boards like CBSE Board, UP Board, Chhattisgarh board, have been instrumental in doing it’s job of providing quality education and conducting numerous number of examinations in various regions across India.
