I am so moved and grateful for all the support you are all showing for our forthcoming film @freececedoc. We have 11 more days left in our campaign. Help us get to the finish line with our financial goal. On the show I play Sophia Burset, a trans woman of color who experiences violence from corrupt individuals and a corrupt prison system. In the documentary film and through the story of we’re exploring in depth this culture of violence that far too many trans folks particularly trans folks of color experience everyday. We need your help to complete this film. Please contribute whatever dollar amount you can to our campaign and share our campaign in social media. I have experienced the power of truthful storytelling can have to ignite social change. Help us tell this story. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/free-cece-post-production-campaign Link also in bio.

11 days ago we made a mad dash out of town to be with family. The following day, my sweet father-in-law, Bob, was admitted to the hospital, and 3 days ago he passed away. If it seems our posts have not been our usual over the past couple of weeks, it’s because our life hasn’t been it’s usual. It’s been hard. Really freaking hard. And confusing and scary and gut wrenching and heart breaking. But I was also told that upon being admitted to the hospital, he was quick to ask the nurses if they’d seen that little girl on CBS earlier in the week … then proudly announced that was HIS granddaughter :) The very next day, Mayhem and I sat in our car in the hospital parking lot decorating paper Christmas trees for his room. And even though she couldn’t go in to visit with him, I’m thankful for the magic of technology that allowed her to be able to FaceTime with him one last time and show him that she was taking excellent care of his dog. The past couple of weeks have been especially brutal on my husband, his mother and his sister. So if you have a prayer, healing thought or good vibe to spare, I’d ask you to send one their way. We’ve got a long road ahead of us to heal from such an incredible and unexpected loss, but we know that smiling and laughing are big keys to our own healing and he’d want us to do as much of that as possible. Thanks for all the love you send our way – you have no idea how many of your comments and emails over the past two weeks have given me the strength I needed (especially on Mayhem’s birthday!) We’re so grateful for you!!!
