Any baseball game can go from ordinary to legendary in a matter of moments. That’s why we watch: the potential of witnessing a transcendent moment.
These two photos were taken on film, Sept. 18, 2006, AKA the four + one game. We were so caught up in the craziness of it all that the post-game interview with hero Nomar Garciaparra was the first moment I thought to snap a photo. Also pictured is my long-time Dodger buddy Andrew Nielson. You couldn’t wipe those grins off our faces. I visited his family earlier this year and we spent a good hour re-counting that game, inning by inning. That’s what being a Dodger fan is all about.
